BAHRIYA: the review

Good day to all my ever gleaming readers, I do hope you are staying safe and good as usual.
I pray in everything we do, may we not be victim of circumstances.
Today I will be doing a review on on my recently read book BAHRIYA, so kindly stay with me as I unfold what BAHRIYA is all about.

I want to be a mother that won't bother her daughters even when bothered, when slaughtered, when cluttered and hemmed between refuse in a gutter. I want to wear love on my body like a sea wears a ripple. I seek calmness like the sea, like the shore when the sky is a bed of stars.
Who am I ?
I am Bahriya!
and even if I am not, I want to be like BAHRIYA...

Zulfah Adeola Jubril in her recent book Bahriya gave us a snippet on what the Sudanese culture looks like. With the diction she used and the basis of conversation, it was further portrayed that Islam is the largest religion is Sudan.
The Muslims have dominated national government institutions in Sudan since her independence in 1956.
Basically, the muslim dominates Sudan which has a large impacts in the culture they practice.

In Bahriya, Zulfah took us through the journey of motherhood, physical and emotional torture in marriage, the agony of war, the restless efforts to make a difference, possibilities of overcoming fear and hurdles, relevance of prayer and a lot.

The Bahriya of this story was betrothed to a man who subject her to physical and emotional abuse at every opportunity he gets which ended up in marring her passion for good and quality education.
Bahriya's love for education and circumstances around her awakens her to make conscious effort to give her daughters the best.
She single handedly caters for her home and gave her children profound legacy. She was faced by countless obstacles in form of human and war but against all odds she won.

But how did she do it?
How was it possible for her to cater for her home?
How did she keep up with emotional abuse without divorce?

Zulfah Adeola Jubril (JAZ) is a graduate of Nile university in Sudan. She is presently an assistant lecturer in the same Nile university. She is a serial author, her books are basically centred on educational and mental development.
